New Delhi,Jitendra Sharma: In a major embarrassment for Delhi police, one of its woman officer was arrested on charges of involvement in an extortion racket.

According to reports, Sub Inspector Vandana Rao was caught red handed when she was trying to extort money from a businessman at a five star hotel in south Delhi on Sunday. Apart from the woman officer, one assistant sub-inspector and two constables have also been detained in the case.
Ironically, the arrested woman official and detained police personnel were attached with anti-extortion wing of crime branch.
A source has revealed that the businessman had informed the police about the woman officer in order to get her caught red handed.
The police recovered Rs. 40,000 as bribe money from Vandana and the notes recovered from her bore the serial numbers which were earlier noted down.
