Bangalore(web team): The Bangalore-Ernakulam Inter-city express derailed on Friday morning near Anekal Road, about 38 kilometer away from Bangalore.

Three passengers were killed and more than 60 injured, some of them critically when the Bangalore-Ernakulam Inter City Express derailed near Anekal, about 45 kms away on Friday.
Railway officials said about nine coaches have been derailed in the mishap that occurred between Anekal-Hosur on the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border at around 7.40 am.
Railway authorities have rushed rescue teams to the spot and mounted a massive operation.
Ambulances from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been rushed to the spot and the injured were being rushed to nearby hospitals.
The injured trapped in derailed bogies were being removed and rushed to hospitals in Bengaluru and nearby Hosur, sources said.
