LG Najeeb Jung may invite BJP to form government; Arvind Kejriwal accuses BJP of playing dirty tricks
Citing unidentified sources, media reports said that the President's decision was conveyed to the Lieutenant Governor on Monday night.
However, soon after the reports, AAP chief took it to micro-blogging site Twitter accusing BJP of playing tricks. Kejriwal further questioned, "How will BJP form government? They don't have nos. Why don't they just call elections?
Reacting to reports, AAP leader Manish Sisodia said, "BJP must show some guts to dissolve Delhi Assembly and say yes for elections"
He further added, "Lieutenant Governor sir must rethink on the matter, we have given him evidences of BJP's horsetrading. Why does he want such a government for Delhi?
The Election Commission had on Saturday announced by-polls in three assembly seats in Delhi. The by-polls to three assembly seats in Delhi, which fell vacant after their MLAs resigned following their victories in the Lok Sabha elections, will be held on November 25.
Delhi has been under President's rule since Kejriwal resigned as the Chief Minister on February 14 after being in office for 49 days.
Kejriwal on February 14 had resigned after suffering a defeat in the assembly on the Jan Lokpal Bill and in a political gamble he recommended dissolution of the assembly and holding of fresh polls.
A day ago, BJP's Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay said "Final decision on ending the political uncertainty in Delhi will be taken by the Centre and BJP leadership after government formation in Maharashtra. Dismissing criticism by Congress and Aam Aadmi Party that BJP was "running away" from facing fresh polls in Delhi, Upadhyay had said his party was "fully ready" for election as it has continued to enjoy people's trust across the country.
