Women’s Doubles 1/32 Elimination: Poulomi Ghatak/Ankita Das take third game 11-7 to wrap the match in straight games. They won the match 11-5, 11-1, 11-7 to move through to the round of 16.
India maintained their winning momentum on the Day 9 collecting 8 medals led by Yogeshwar Dutt’s gold medal in wrestling. India has won 18 medals on two days to significantly rise in the medal rankings and would look forward to doing so in the coming days. On Day 10, the major spotlight will be from the Yeorumul Tennis Courts where India will play two of their gold medal matches. The men’s doubles pair of Sanam Singh and Saketh Myneni will play against South Korean pair of Yongkyu Lim and Hyeon Chung. The second gold medal match will see India’s top tennis star Sania Mirza partnering Saketh Myeni again in line for another gold in the mixed doubles final. Apart from tennis, the other significant highlight of the Day 10 is the clash between Indian women’s hockey team with South Korea at Soenhak Hockey Stadium here Monday for a place in 17th Asian Games final. Indian eves look high on confidence after thrashing Malaysia 6-1 in their last pool A match.
The Day 10 will see action from the boxing ring as well as from wrestling circuit. Both these events has produced great results so far in Asian Games and should motivate others to continue with the positive momentum. India’s final medal tally will depend a lot on grapplers and pugilists performances in the 17th edition of Asian Games.
